Future economic growth plotted by Northern Territory government
Looking towards the future, the Northern Territory state government has begun outlining plans for the new Territory Infrastructure Development Fund, which could be great news for owners of commercial property in Darwin.
Chief minister Adam Giles said the state government was determined to strategically build the region's future – rather than simply let the money trickle away – in order to create an investment nest egg that continues to grow over time.
"There is some infrastructure that Territorians want and need right now and it's been great to see the public identifying these priority community projects via the Building Our Territory website," said Mr Giles in a 6 November statement.
These plans include things like an indoor netball stadium at Marrara, the redevelopment of Nightcliff Oval, a new theatre and basketball stadium at Bullocky Point, a dedicated Indigenous art and culture museum, resort and golf course at East Point and many more.
These are just some of the basic ideas being considered by the state government, which all aim to help make the Northern Territory a desirable place for future investment and economic growth in the coming years.
