The Northern Territory is on track to delivering an additional 2,000 affordable houses across the state by 2017, which could be great news for anyone interested in securing your own residential property in Moil or the surrounding suburbs.
Minister for Housing Matt Conlan said that the Northern Territory's Real Housing for Growth initiative is ahead of its 2017 schedule, with more than half of the new dwellings set to be completed by halfway through next year. With affordability being touted as one of the major issues facing the Territory, these moves have been made to help increase the degree of home ownership across the state.
"Our Real Housing for Growth initiative will provide 2000 new homes over four years to increase affordable rental and home ownership options for low to middle income families across the Northern Territory," said Mr Conlan in a 27 August statement.
He went on to say the program aims to help people transition from renter through to full home owners, helping to relieve the pressure on social housing lists simultaneously.
